Recommended move-in list: 

• Bedding (extra long twin) & pillows 
• Mattress pad 
• Towels (big & small) 
• Hangers & closet organizer 
• Laundry supplies & basket 
• Fan
• Trash can & trash bags 
• Microwave & mini fridge (4ft) 
• Coffee machine or Keurig 
• Plates, silverware, bowls, etc.

Prohibited items:

• Candles & open flames 
• LED strip lights
• Hotplates, toasters, & open coil items 
• Pets other than fish in 10 gallon tanks 
• Any weapons—real or fake 
• Air conditioners, swamp coolers, and heaters 
• Refrigerators over 4ft 

Freedom to decorate: Feel free to use posters, pictures, plants, chairs, and throw rugs to make the space your own.

Additional furnishings: You may bring items like bookshelves and side tables, but space is limited. Be aware that large pieces may not fit comfortably. College-provided furnishings must remain in the room and cannot be stored elsewhere.

Protecting surfaces:

• Use damage-free methods like Mead 3M tabs for hanging items.
• Avoid using methods that can damage the walls or floors.

Prohibited actions: Painting your room is not allowed.

Damage responsibility: Be mindful that charges will be applied for damages beyond regular wear and tear upon move-out.

All students with vehicles must obtain a parking permit. Permits issued by the Police & Parking Services Office can be picked up at Skyhawk Station. Parking permits are required on vehicles Monday morning at 8:00 am, one week after the first day of class for the fall and spring semesters.   

• Permit options: Available for the full academic year or by semester.
• Summer parking: No parking permit is required during summer months.
• Parking restrictions: Parking in fire lanes or metered areas during unloading is prohibited and will result in a ticket.

A communal microwave is available in the lounge or office area of each residence hall.

• Included in Animas Hall and Bader-Snyder Complex Suites: Equipped with a microwave and mini-fridge.
• Other residence halls: Students may bring one microwave (under 1.0 cu. ft.) and one refrigerator (under 4.6 cu. ft.) per room. Students are encouraged to coordinate with  their roommate(s) when deciding what to bring.  

Prohibited appliances: Items with open heating elements, portable AC units, swamp coolers, air fryers, and dishwashers are not allowed for safety reasons.

Loft kits are available for Camp, Crofton, Escalante, Cooper, Animas, West, and Bader/Snyder residences. A loft kit order form is sent out over the summer to have a kit installed before move-in day. Students may also request through building staff on a first-come, first-served basis starting Fall and Spring Check-In Day. 

Costs and billing: A $50 fee for a loft kit will be charged to your student account. Removal requests made within 60 days of the loft being built will incur a $50 removal fee. 

Installation and assistance: For your safety, professional staff must install and remove all loft kits.

Restrictions:

• Lofts are not provided for Centennial or Mears Apartments.
• Self-constructed lofts or those from external sources are prohibited.
• Bunkable bed kits are an option if lofts are unavailable.
• All original furniture must stay in the room after lofting or bunking.
