All incoming first-time students are required to live on campus for two academic semesters (fall and spring) unless they meet one of the following exceptions:

• Live with parents/guardians within a 60-mile radius of the campus
• Are 20 years of age or older
• Have previously lived in a residential school for at least a year (i.e., boarding school)
• Have prior military service
• Are married or are a parent

You must submit all exemption requests in writing and have them approved by the Director of Housing. If you apply for on-campus housing, are housed for the fall term, and do not request an exemption, you must reside on campus for the entire academic year. You can submit your exemption request online.

Yes! In the housing application, under the “Roommate Groups” page, you can search for roommates by their last name, student ID, or their screen name. You can also get roommate suggestions based on similar responses to the Roommate Matching & Lifestyle questions in the housing application. 

When you send a roommate request to another student, they will have 14 days to accept the request in their housing application. 

First-year students: Once your roommate group is set, the Student Housing Office will prioritize placing you with your requested roommate based on the rooms available.

Continuing students: Once your roommate group is set, the Student Housing Office will prioritize placing you with your requested roommate based on the rooms available.

All students living in residence areas without full kitchens are required to enroll in a dining plan. They are automatically signed up for the 19-meal plan but can change to the 14- or 10-meal plan through their housing portal until the Census Date. 

Apartment residents are not required to have a meal plan but may add one through their housing portal or purchase a voluntary meal plan through Fresh Ideas.

• Volunteering on and off campus.
• A platform to recognize the achievements of others.
• Networking with student leaders at regional and national conferences.
• Budget and support to plan large-scale campus events for fellow students
