This guide will help you through the financial aid application journey. Early planning and timely communication are your friends.
Make sure you are eligible
To be considered for financial aid, students must be one of the following:
- Degree-seeking
- Accepted into the Teacher Licensing Program,
- A prerequisite student
- In an approved certification course
- In a graduate program

Your FAFSA determines if you qualify for need-based financial aid, so filling it out is essential.

Create your FSA ID
Financial aid for undocumented students
The Colorado ASSET Bill allows undocumented students who are Colorado residents to be considered for financial aid from the state of Colorado.
ASSET Students do not need to complete the FAFSA application.
Submit a CAFSA
Colorado residents only: Apply for the College Opportunity Fund (COF)
COF is a Colorado state benefit that reduces Colorado residents' tuition. Just like a grant, you don't have to pay it back.

Double-check
All required documents must be submitted, and all discrepancies must be resolved. You will receive financial aid tasks to complete in Workday in your My Tasks Inbox at the top right of the portal. Complete all tasks from the inbox, and check for Action Items and Holds in your profile

If you do not qualify for need-based financial aid, you will get help finding other resources to meet your educational expenses. FLC offers a combination of loans and scholarships.

What to expect next
The Financial Aid Office begins processing aid applications for the upcoming school year in December once your student financial aid file is complete and you're admitted to the College.
Only new students will receive a mailed letter. Existing students will receive a notification through their official FLC email with a link to their WebOpus account with their financial aid award package.
