The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program helps individuals and families purchase the food they need. Benefits get loaded onto an ATM card and can be used at most grocery stores, some farmer’s markets, and with online vendors.

If you meet the requirements, you have a legal right to receive SNAP and are not taking away benefits from others. Only about 40% of students eligible for SNAP use it – get your SNAP dollars now!

Step One: Check your eligibility

• Option 2: Self checklist (recommended)
  • You must meet ONE of these conditions:
    • US Citizen
      • Learn about non-citizen eligibility exemptions
    • Legal Permanent Resident
  •  You must meet ALL the following to qualify as a student:
    • Between 18-49 years old
      • Students attending less than half-time and those younger than 18 and 50+ do not need to meet other student criteria (only the monthly income limit)
    • Enrolled in at least 6 credits**
    • Not on a campus meal plan with 11 or more meals per week
  •  You must meet AT LEAST ONE additional student criteria:
    • Awarded work-study OR work 20 hours/week
    • Use disability services for temporary or permanent disabilities (i.e., receive accommodations through the Accessibility Resource Center or other disability benefits)
    • Receive TANF (Colorado Works)
    • Are a parent/caregiver to a young child under 12 years old
    • Experiencing homelessness
  •  Your monthly income must NOT EXCEED:
