FLC's harm reduction vending machine
WellPAC and the Office of Student Well-Being have partnered with a generous donor to introduce the WellPAC Wellness Station — a wellness vending machine available for your convenience!
Location and purpose
The WellPAC Wellness Station is located in the vending and commuter area downstairs in the Student Union, near the bookstore and El Centro. This vending machine is provided from a harm reduction approach to support our student community, ensuring vital resources are readily available with fewer barriers.
This resource is intended to serve the needs of our FLC students responsibly. We kindly request that you only take what you personally need, ensuring that all students who need wellness supplies can access them.
What’s inside the Wellness Station?
The vending machine contains various wellness supplies, including:
- Naloxone
- Drug testing strips
- Pregnancy tests
- Menstrual products
- Emergency contraceptives
- A variety of condoms
- Personal lubrication
- Hygiene kits, and more
Access code for FLC students
To ensure that only FLC students access these resources, use the code 7508 on the vending machine's keypad to select your products. You can select more than one product but will need to enter the code for each item. Note that some products may have limits on the number you can retrieve in succession to ensure fairness and availability for all students.
The vending machine operates on an anonymous basis, ensuring that there is no way to trace the items you retrieve back to you. Your privacy and confidentiality are important to us.
Important information about emergency contraception
Before using emergency contraception available in the vending machine, we recommend consulting a healthcare provider. While emergency contraception can be a valuable resource, it is not suitable for everyone and should not be relied upon as a regular method of birth control. Additionally, it does not provide protection against sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and does not guarantee pregnancy prevention. For questions, contact the FLC Health Center at 970-247-7355.
Questions and concerns
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the Office of Student Well-Being at 970-247-7508. We encourage you to take advantage of this valuable resource and to use it responsibly.
