1. FLC Network

   Your FLC network account is your gateway to Fort Lewis College's digital resources. This account is used to log in to your computer, email, and all campus IT services, including lab systems. It is crucial to keep your network account secure, as it provides access to personal and institutional information. Always use a strong, unique password that you do not use for any other sites or accounts outside of FLC. Remember, the Help Desk and other FLC personnel will never ask for your password. If you receive a suspicious phone call, email, or website requesting your login information, report it to the Help Desk immediately.

2. Email

   Your FLC email account is the official channel for all communication at Fort Lewis College, providing you with a 100 GB mailbox to manage your correspondence. Ensure you check your email regularly to stay updated on important announcements, deadlines, and other critical information. While forwarding your email to another account is possible, it is not recommended due to potential issues with security and reliability. If you wish to set up forwarding, please contact the Help Desk for further assistance.

3. Workday

   Your Workday account is the platform for managing many aspects of your employment and personal information, as well as where faculty access information for grading, registration, class rosters, courses, and student information. This account plays a critical role in managing your professional and personal administrative tasks, ensuring you stay informed and organized.

4. Multi-Factor Authentication

   Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is required for Microsoft Suite and Workday to ensure the highest level of security. MFA helps protect your information by requiring a second form of verification in addition to your password.

1. Microsoft Office 365 and OneDrive

   Your Microsoft account grants you access to Microsoft Office 365, which includes online versions of popular applications and 5TB of cloud storage through OneDrive. With these resources, you can create, share, collaborate, and edit documents from any internet-connected device.

2. Personal storage on your M: drive

   You have access to 30 GB of secure storage on your personal M: drive, which is regularly backed up to protect your important files. This storage is private and accessible only by you, making it the recommended place for storing sensitive or critical information.

3. Canvas

   Canvas is the online Course Management System for Fort Lewis College, where you access and manage all your courses and related materials.

4. FLC-hosted professional website for faculty

   To create your own web page, add an index.html file to the WWW folder located on your M: drive. You can use any HTML editor to design and build your webpage. Once the file is in place, your personal web page will be accessible at:

5. Telephone

   Fort Lewis College campus voice and phone services are through Microsoft Teams, providing:

   • Making and receiving calls using Microsoft Teams on computers, mobile devices, and, in some locations, traditional phones.
   • Seamless integration with Microsoft applications such as Chat, Calendar, and OneDrive.

6. Stay informed with Skyhawk Alerts

   Skyhawk Alert keeps you updated on weather cancellations, road maintenance, and public safety information. All employees are automatically signed up to receive alerts via email or text.

7. FLC website

   Find all administrative department information on the FLC website. From the academic calendar, travel, human resources, and more. Faculty can find Registrar resources on the Skyhawk Station portal.

8. theFort

   "theFort" is Fort Lewis College's directory. You can use this as an alternative to the Fort Lewis College website to navigate campus department information.

1. Software installation

   You have the privilege to request software installations in campus labs. To request specific software, fill out the form and identify a source of long-term funding. If no funding is identified, licensed software will have a three-year expiration, and freeware will expire after one year. Note that a minimum of five network licenses is required for any software installations in the computer labs.

2. Computer classroom reservations

   You can reserve computer classrooms for semester-long courses or drop-in sessions. For semester-long reservations, contact your Department Chair. For drop-in reservations, please use the link below.

3. Printing and Copying

   You have access to campus printing and copying services, which are billed to your department. Copying services are available through campus copiers, which you can access with your SkyCard ID.

1. Affordable, high-quality computers for personal use

   Looking for an affordable computer? Purchase high-quality, retired campus computers from us! All computers are retired after at least three years of use and are available for sale at the Media Services desk (extension 7417) in the basement of Reed Library.

2. Access free software

   All employees can download Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office and other software at no cost. Faculty and staff can also install Office apps (Word, Excel, etc.) directly from Office 365.

All FLC employees are automatically enrolled in cyber security training, so when you get emails from Ninjio-DO NOT DELETE, it is not spam. This is a State of Colorado requirement.

1. Beware of phishing emails: Urgent emails asking you to “click here” or to verify, update, or validate your account are often tricks to steal your password. Always check the full email address to see if it is legitimate! FLC will never send an email for you to reset your password. FLC can require a password change when you login. Emails requesting you to reset your password are always phishing.

2. Store important files on a network drive: Files stored on OneDrive or your “M” drive can be restored if they become corrupted by malware or accidentally deleted. Files on your local computer are not protected.

3. Don’t use your FLC network password for other sites: Keep your FLC password unique. Never share your password with anyone, including FLC faculty and staff!

4. Reduce spam: Avoid using your FLC email address to sign up for promotions or as social media logins.

5. Watch out for impersonation scams: These scams often come as an email or text that appears to be from an FLC executive or colleague, asking you to purchase gift cards and send redemption codes. It’s a trick!

6. Protect personally identifiable information (PII): Do not send or store sensitive information in email. Visit www.fortlewis.edu/data-handling for guidelines.

7. Avoid ransomware: This type of virus can destroy all of your files and pictures and affect the computers around you. Don’t open unexpected email attachments, even from someone you know.

8. Help keep FLC cyber-safe: Forward suspicious emails and spam to junk@fortlewis.edu.
