Master's candidate earns national honors with Milken award [VIDEO]

Fort Lewis College graduate student and third-grade teacher Carrie Harper, from Durango's Sunnyside Elementary School, was named as a prestigious Milken Educator, along with only 39 other teachers nationwide, in January. She is the only recipient from southwest Colorado and received a $25,000 award.

Teacher Education students set to earn FLC's first-ever master's degrees

Fort Lewis College took a giant leap into the future in January 2012, when the Higher Learning Commission approved FLC's first graduate program: a Master of Arts in Education, Teacher Leadership Option. The first students in the M.A. program and the associated graduate-level Teacher Leadership Certificate program began their studies in Fall 2013.

“Fort Lewis College is such a great school,” she says. “I hope that it will attract players from all over the country who want to play competitive golf in such a beautiful place like Durango. The College has so much to offer academically, as well as its wonderful location.”

Google exec encourages FLC students to take a leap and change the world

“The world’s a big place. There’s a lot going on. There’s not a better time to be coming out of school and be going out there and tackling some of these problems.”

That was one of the main messages that Doug Daniels, head of Google’s Cloud Platform, offered as he spoke at Fort Lewis College on March 16, 2015.

My title is Vice President for Advancement and Executive Director of the FLC Foundation, having joined FLC in July 2014.

I recently had the privilege of welcoming Carol Salomon and Norman Broad, two generous supporters of Fort Lewis College, to campus to celebrate the good their gifts have done. Their donations to the President’s Discretionary Fund have allowed us to support some wonderful initiatives and programs.
