Advising & Registration

Before you begin the process to Apply for Program Completion, double-check your declared programs. If you need to add/drop majors, minors, concentrations, or certificates, complete the "Program Changes Form" in the Student Resource Center. For questions, email gradcheck@fortlewis.edu.

The Academic Progress Report (APR) in Workday tracks your degree or certificate requirements. The APR replaced the uAchieve degree audit in WebOPUS. It will:

• Ensure you aren't missing requirements. You may not be eligible to graduate if any requirements are incomplete.
• If you have questions, contact your advisor before registering for your final semester.

You can access the APR from the Academics app or from your Profile

Academics app:

1. Select the Academics app from either “Your Top Apps” on the right side of the page, or from the MENU at the top left corner of the page. 
2. Under the Academic Advising & Planning header, choose “View My Academic Progress” and then select “OK.” 

Profile:

1. Select your Profile icon at the top right of the page and then select “View Profile.” 
2. Navigate to the Academics menu item on the left side of the page. 
3. Select the “Academic Progress” tab.

How to read the report:

• The top of the report will indicate your declared program(s), cumulative GPA, unused registrations (courses that do not apply towards any of your requirements), and overall academic progress (total credits needed to graduate).  
• If you are pursuing more than one Program of Study, each will have its own section. 
• At the top of each section, you will see your major GPA, your requirements effective date (catalog year), and when your APR was last evaluated.  
• Undergraduate students only: Within your primary program of study section, you will also see your Liberal Arts Core requirements, upper division requirements, and then your major requirements.  
• Your APR lists all program requirements in the first column (including any exceptions to graduation requirements, which are called “overrides” in Workday), their statuses (satisfied, in progress, not satisfied, waived), remaining requirements, registrations used (courses), academic periods (terms), credits, and final grades. 

Note: If your APR appears incorrect, email the Registrar’s Office at gradcheck@fortlewis.edu.  

Register as early as possible for your final semester of classes when you plan to Apply for Program Completion. If you plan to finish in the summer, register early for spring and summer classes.

• Spring registration opens in early November for all continuing students.
• Summer registration opens in early December for seniors and graduate students only.

Find your Registration Appointments in Workday:

• Access the Academics app via the MENU at the top left of your Workday portal or from "Your Top Apps" on the homepage.
• Locate the "Upcoming Registration Appointments" table to see your designated registration periods for upcoming semester terms, including the specific date ranges when you can enroll in courses for each term.

Review the Registration Checklist

1. Log in to Workday.
2. Select the Academics app from either “Your Top Apps” on right side of the page, or from the MENU at the top left corner of the page.
3. Once you are in the Academics app, find the “Requests” section on the right side of the page and then select Apply for Program Completion.
4. In the “Name” field, you can select either your legal or preferred name (if you have a preferred name on file) for your diploma.
5. In the “Apply” column, check the box next to your Program of Study.
   Note: If you have more than one (1) Program of Study, you may not be able to select each box because some programs (like minors, second majors, and concentrations) are tied to your primary Program of Study. By selecting your primary program, your additional programs will automatically be included on your application. If you are completing a certificate, in addition to a bachelor’s degree, you will be able to select the certificate separately from your primary Program of Study.
6. If applicable, update the Expected Completion Date to the last day of the term. Refer to the Academic Calendar to determine the last day of term or see below:
   • Summer 2025: 07/25/2025
     Note: If you need to take summer courses to complete your degree requirements, enter the summer graduation date. Spring and summer graduates walk in the April/May ceremony, while fall graduates walk in the December ceremony.
   • Fall 2025: 12/12/2025
7. Select the “Confirm” box. Enter any comments you believe are relevant to supporting your ability to graduate.
8. Select the blue “Submit” button and then select “Done.”
9. Once your application is submitted, you will receive two (2) required tasks in Workday to "Review any active holds on your account" and to "Complete the Commencement Questionnaire."
   • Go to the “My Tasks” icon at the top right corner of the page.
     • Task 1: Review any active holds on your account.
       • Select the blue “View My Active Holds” button to see if there are any holds you need to take care of.
       • Navigate back to the task and then select the blue Submit button.
     • Task 2: Complete the Commencement Questionnaire.
       • Fill out the form and then select the blue Submit button.
10. Once your two (2) tasks are submitted, you will receive a notification in Workday (check your notifications icon on the top right of the page) that you successfully applied for program completion!

All official communications about your application status will be sent to your FLC email from the Registrar’s Office via gradcheck@fortlewis.edu. Your application for Program Completion will either be approved or remain pending due to missing requirements (which will be outlined in the email).

If you resolve your missing requirements, your application will be re-evaluated for approval.
